Gaja Sorč is a Slovenian soprano, singer and performer. She graduated from the Academy of Music in Ljubljana, where she studied with Barbara Jernejčič Fürst, and continued her training with a number of distinguished teachers. Her work ranges from opera and contemporary music theatre to musical theatre, art song, the concert stage and dubbing. Her notable roles include Nika in the opera Kit na plaži, Angela in the opera musical Kette, Nada in the opera mystery Zločin v Blatnem dolu, Sandrina in Mozart’s La finta giardiniera, and Nella and Lauretta in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi. She has received several awards at international singing competitions as well as the Elizabeth Luxton Memorial Scholarship.
